EVALUATION

Prior to initiating speech therapy sessions, an evaluation is necessary to determine strengths and areas of need specific to each child.
We utilize a combination of standardized testing, informal language samples and observations, as well as parent/guardian input as part of the evaluation process.
Evaluations vary in cost and length of time to complete, depending upon the specific assessments chosen to best determine your child's needs.

An evaluation may not be required if the child has been evaluated within the past year. Contact us for details!

THERAPY

We offer weekly therapy sessions. The number of sessions and length of each session per week will be determined based on diagnosis, age, level of engagement during activities, and goals.

We evaluate and treat:

FAQ

WHAT IS TELEPRACTICE?

Telepractice is a method of service delivery via secure, HIPPA encrypted video teleconferencing and/or telephone communication. It is recognized by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as an approved and effective method of providing speech and language therapy services.

Keynote Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy provides services exclusively via telepractice. This allows us to reach more families, meet at a time that best suits each family's schedule, and it's one less trip in the car for busy families! We use a leading online therapy software platform where it is easy to privately and securely meet, message, send and receive documents, and make payments, all in one place!

To engage in online therapy sessions, all that is needed is a computer with internet access and video camera, as well as a headset with a built-in microphone.

WHAT DOES AN EVALUATION ENTAIL?

Prior to initiating speech therapy sessions, an evaluation is necessary to determine strengths and areas of need specific to each child. Goals are then written based on each child's individual needs and caregiver input. If an evaluation was completed elsewhere within the past year, an additional evaluation may not be necessary.

Evaluations vary in time depending upon the assessment tasks being used and the child's ability to attend to the tasks. Evaluations may take place during more than one scheduled session. Depending upon the type of evaluation, this cost is fixed. A full evaluation report will be provided to you that includes specific and measurable goals, and your therapist will follow up to discuss results and recommendations with you.  This report may take up to two weeks to prepare; we appreciate your patience as we customize a plan that best meets your child's needs!

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

We are an out-of-network, private-pay provider and do not accept insurance at this time. We conveniently provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Coverage is not guaranteed. It is recommended you reach out to your insurance provider to determine if services are covered.

Payment is due at time of service. We accept all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA. Payments are made conveniently and securely online.

HOW LONG WILL MY CHILD NEED TREATMENT?

Length of treatment varies with each child, and depends on diagnosis, attendance, and carry-over of goals and activities.

HOW LONG ARE SPEECH SESSIONS?

We offer weekly individual or group speech sessions. The number and length of sessions vary and are individualized, based on diagnosis, age of child, level of engagement, and goals.

Parent involvement and collaboration are paramount for a child's progress! This may involve direct parent coaching throughout the session or a quick debriefing at the end of each session. We also love collaborating with other professionals (with your permission, of course!) including but not limited to SLPs, OTs, PTs, and teachers to work together to best support your child!

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

Regular attendance ensures the most effective therapy treatment. Cancellations will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. It is recommended a make up session be scheduled as soon as possible to support progress.
